General comment

Osage should have -ds-; -d- is presumably La Flesche’s native Ponca interfering. Cf. Dakota ṡtunya, stuta ‘thaw out the frost’ (Wm 243-a) which shows variant derivations and are related indirectly. Biloxi itcĭ´tcokí ‘a comforter’ (DS-200b) is not clearly relatable at present.
